I’m kinda tired of the cold. I’m done with the sun going down at 5 p.m. Those who are in school are probably ready for a break. I’m ready for a vacation. I wish there was a season to satisfy all of these things.
Oh wait . . .
Weather
Summer has the best weather, the warmest weather.
No winter coats. No need for hoodies. Not even long-sleeve shirts are necessary. We can walk around barefoot in shorts and a t-shirt. It’s really a freeing feeling.
Because summer is the warmest season, that also means that it is the season with the biggest variety of activities.
We can go outside and play sports or take walks and watch the sun set over the horizon. The sun is out longer in summer than any other season. So, more time to spend outside.
However, summer can sometimes be a little too hot. So, there are alternatives. Swimming can be extremely refreshing and relaxing, and summer is the only season for it outside. Or, if it is too hot even for swimming, you can always just go inside and turn on the AC.
School’s Out
No school = more free time and less stress. Because school’s out for the summer, we have all the time in the world to hang out with friends, go outside, play sports and video-games, or do whatever else we want.
Seven hours of the day are opened up because of summer. More hours of homework disappear. We can sleep in all we want and stay up as late as we want.
The pressure is off. There are other breaks during the school year, but they’re not a whole season long. Summer is meant to be enjoyed more than the other seasons because there’s no school.
Vacation
The ultimate break. The best relaxation. Rest at its best.
School’s out and the weather’s nice, so summer has more vacations than the other seasons.
We can go to Door County in Wisconsin, Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, Universal in Florida, or Disney. We can watch the sun set on the water of Lake Michigan and listen to waves washing to shore, swim and float on our backs in the Pacific Ocean, play tennis at resorts, and ride countless rides at amusement parks. Or, if you really want, there’s freedom to go somewhere colder.
Summer is the ultimate season. It is the most chill season with its peak weather, no school, and vacations. Personally, I can’t wait.
